On a July morning in St. John’s, Newfoundland, In 1924 Field Marshal Douglas Haig, victorious General of the First World War, the man who would come to be known as “The Butcher of the Somme” is dressed by a Bolshevik and interviewed by suffragist not long back from Weimer Berlin. Welcome to the 20th century.
