Scene & Heard Workshop: Women Producers’ Brunch

This is a rare chance to pick the brains of highly experienced producers from across Canada, including Lynn Wilson (Relative Happiness), Annette Clarke (NFB) and Sarah Spring (Parabola Films, Montreal). This advanced session is open to women who want to ask questions about the business side of filmmaking, in confidence, to further develop their own producing careers. Topics discussed can include company incorporation for the master company and single purpose incorporations, lawyers and insurance, how to choose accounting firms, how tax credits work, inter-provincial co-productions and financing, the business of being a producer/director/writer, financing for films/docs/tv, and more. This intimate workshop is designed for women who want to speak freely and openly with a smaller group versus large audience panel.
