The 2017 Pratt Lecture: Dionne Brand

Memorial University, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Department of English invite you to join us for the 2017 Pratt Lecture. Dionne Brand will give a lecture titled “A Hidden Verb Takes Inventory.”

Dionne Brand is the celebrated author of Love Enough, Ossuaries, and A Map to the Door of No Return: Notes on Belonging. Among her many awards are the Griffin Poetry Prize, the Governor General’s Literary Award, and the Trillium Book Prize. She was the Poet Laureate of Toronto from 2009-2012.

The Pratt Lecture is the oldest public lecture at Memorial University, founded in 1967 in honour of the Newfoundland-born poet E. J. Pratt.
