Braxton Comedy Festival Musical Improv Workshop W/ Tim Matson

We all love “Come From Away,” well now learn how to make up a musical completely in the moment with Tim Matson! Tim will show you tips and tricks how to create songs off the top of your head and how to incorporate those songs into improvised scenes.

Timothy Matson is a director, actor, teacher, and improviser.  Some directing credits include Fun Home, Impresario, Next to Normal, Urinetown, 13, Avenue Q, Spelling Bee, and Fuddy Meers (Best Kind Productions) All Shook Up, Fiddler on the Roof and Footloose (Quidi Vidi/Rennie’s River Development Foundation). For Acting Manitou Theatre Camp, Tim has served as a teaching artist, musical director, and director.  Directing credits for Acting Manitou include Urinetown, Bring It On, The Diviners, She Loves Me, Pippin, and the world premiere of Promnado.  He directed Mount Pearl Senior High’s productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Little Shop of Horrors and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown!  As a performer, some recent credits include Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid (Theatre St. John’s), Peter in Jesus Christ Superstar (TaDa! Events), Enjolras in Les Misérables (Atlantic Light Theatre), Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz (Peter MacDonald Productions), Phil Davis in Irving Berlin’s White Christmas (TaDa! Events), and Jeff in

(Best Kind Productions).  As an improviser, Tim has trained at Dirty South Improv and the Upright Citizens Brigade and is a founding member of Stanley Braxton.
