Where is the LSPU Hall? And how do I get there? And where can I park?

If you are walking, we are located just west of the Prescott/Duckworth intersection, on the north side of Duckworth. There is a set of stairs between two concrete walls painted with a mural of an audience at applause, and the Hall is at the top of these stairs to the left.

We have Parking!

Driving? RCA has free parking for our patrons! Yes it’s true. For weekdays, parking access starts at 6 pm and on weekends there are not time restrictions.

  • The 1st parking lot is located on Harbour Drive, the outside parking lot of the Fortis Building at Habourfront and Prescott. It has ~100 parking spaces and it is first come first serve.
  • The 2nd parking lot is located off of Prescott Street, North of Duckworth behind the Bluedrop Performance Building. It has ~60 parking spaces and it is first come first serve.

Any vehicles parked outside of these designated hours will be ticketed and/or towed and overnight parking is strictly prohibited.

Please note that there is no parking available on Victoria Street – only vehicles with residential permits are allowed to park on Victoria. If you get downtown early enough there is usually street parking on Duckworth. If you are coming to pick up tickets there is VERY LIMITED parking in front of the building.

I’m new to theatre – is there an etiquette I should be aware of?

Please ensure that you turn off all cell phones, pagers, watch alarms and MP3 players prior to the start of the performance. The use of cameras or any sort of recording devices is prohibited inside both the theatre and Cox & Palmer Second Space.

We strongly recommend that you arrive 30 minutes before a show. Those arriving after the show begins will be seated according to that particular show’s late-comer policy by LSPU Hall Staff via balcony seating only. If the show has assigned seating, you may not be able to get to your seats until after intermission, if at all. Please do not be late.

Please be considerate of those around you and understand that they are here to enjoy the performance for the same reasons as you.

What time are performances?

Theatre performances generally run from Tuesday through Sunday at 8:00 pm with matinees on Sunday at 2:00 pm. However, show times are set by the Renter/Production Company and may vary. Please consult our Calendar of Events page to confirm start dates and times.

What time does Box Office open?

The Box Office is open Monday to Friday from 12 noon-5pm (with extended hours on performance evenings and weekend matinees) (Please note that weekend hours will change according to performance schedules, i.e. if there are no performances that weekend or upcoming in the next week, the box office will not be open. Please call ahead).

  • On the night of a show box office hours are extended until show time for ticket sales for that night’s performance only. You will not be able to purchase tickets for a future performance night during this time.
  • Opening hours for matinees vary. Please call ahead.

How do I get my tickets?

If you purchase tickets online or over the phone, your tickets will be held for you at the box office and can be picked up during our scheduled box office hours, right up until the start time of the performance. We do not mail out tickets.

Do I get a reserved seat? When do doors open? When should I get there?

The LSPU Hall now has reserved seating. However, not all Renters/Production Companies choose to use our reserved seating and may wish to go with General Admission. This information will be listed in the show description either on the Calendar of Events page.

If the performance has reserved seating and you have your tickets, you just need to show up at the theatre 30 minutes or less prior to the show and go up to the theatre. If you don’t have tickets, please try to arrive at least 30 minutes or more before the start of the show to avoid line-ups.

If the performance is General Admission, we recommend arriving at the theatre at least 45 minutes prior to show time to ensure you are not rushed to get your ticket and your preferred seat.

What is your latecomer policy?

Unfortunately, no latecomers will be admitted to our theatre, unless the specific production allows latecomers. Seating latecomers can be both disruptive to the actors and to the other patrons. We please ask that you arrive on time for the start of the show.

How long is the show? Is there an intermission?

The running time of each show varies – please consult the show description on the Events or Box Office pages.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Yes, but if we’re sold out there won’t be one for you! We always recommend buying your ticket in advance so that you’re not disappointed. But if you’re joining us last minute then yes you can try to buy a ticket at the door. We recommend arriving as early as possible to give yourself the best chance. In addition, we will be posting sell out information on our website via our Events or Purchase Tickets pages.

How does Pay-What-You-Can (PWYC) work?

Pay-What-You-Can performances are generally on Saturdays or Sundays at 2:00 pm. Just hand us what you’re able to pay and you get a ticket for the show. Tickets for PWYC are CASH ONLY. Box Office opens for PWYC sales 2 hours prior to show time and tickets are on a first come first serve basis.

Think you didn’t pay enough for a PWYC show you really enjoyed? We accept retroactive payments. Just let our Box office or Front of house staff know you’d like to pay more and we’ll gladly accept your increased donation to the show or theatre.

Please note that PWYC performances are set by the Renter/Production Company. Not all matinees will be pay-what-you-can so please check the description of the show on the Events or Purchase Tickets page.

Do you sell drinks?

Yes! We have a great fully stocked bar located in our Cox & Palmer Second Space on the main floor of the building. The bar opens 1 hour prior to curtain time and you can enjoy a glass of wine, beer or soft drink. Drinks are not allowed upstairs in the Main Stage Theatre.

Do you have discounted tickets?

Different types of tickets depend on the Renter/Production Company associated with the performance and are not set by RCA staff. Please consult the description of the show on the Events or Purchase Tickets page.

Are all matinees pay-what-you-can?

Not all matinees are pay-what-you can so please check the description of the show on the Events or Purchase Tickets page. Matinee prices are set by the Renter/Production Company associated with the performance; not RCA staff.

Can I purchase tickets for a future performance while I’m purchasing tickets at the door for that night’s performance?

No. One hour before curtain, the box office cannot sell tickets for future performances. With a huge line up of patrons trying to purchase tickets at the door for that night’s performance, it slows down the box office staff’s ability to process ticket purchases in a timely manner and get patrons to their seats.

Having trouble buying tickets?

Our box office software requires you to have JAVA UPDATED on your computer. This ensures that you will be able to see the SEAT MAP and select a seat (general admission shows will not have a seat map).

If you’re purchasing a ticket online there is an option to use PAY PAL after you’ve selected your seats. This option is only viable if you have a pay pal account. Clicking here will take you from our site to Pay Pal.

If you’re paying by CREDIT CARD, AFTER you SELECT a SEAT then scroll down PAST the PAYPAL button to type in your credit card information (credit card number and billing address). Note that for privacy reasons this information is NOT stored after the individual transaction is completed.

Did you know you can SIGN IN/ CREATE A PROFILE when you buy tickets so that all your information automatically comes up? Click the “sign in” link in the right hand corner of the Purchase Tickets page (you’ll also be able to track your purchase history this way!)

Why doesn’t it say “https” in the address bar? Does this mean your website is not secure?
