Maintenance Position
To perform maintenance and light repairs for the interior and exterior of the LSPU Hall. Skillful hands and technical knowledge are important elements and the candidate must be well-organized, work with little to no supervision, take initiative and have strong general repair skills. A keen eye for detail and physical stamina are valued greatly.

Responsibilities:
Completing repairs that do not require a specialized technician such as (but not limited to): changing lightbulbs, painting (interior/exterior), sanding/staining, fixing flooring, etc.;
Keeping sidewalks, ramp and perimeter of the building clear of debris throughout the year;
Weekly garbage removal;
Removal of hazardous items and/or larger items when necessary;
Identifying and reporting maintenance and safety issues;
Recommending improvements and implementing recommendations for the identified maintenance and safety issues;
Monitoring inventory of cleaning and/or repair supplies;
Occasional cleaning duties required (sweeping, dusting, mopping);
Occasional snow removal duties;
Undertake duties as assigned.

Requirements:
3 or more years’ experience as a maintenance person or related experience;
Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment;
Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems;
Good communication skills;
Well-organized and apt in problem-solving;
Attention to detail;
Ability to do physical labour;
Regular and reliable attendance is expected;
Knowledge of cleaning solutions and materials;
Have a vehicle.

This is a part-time position, approximately 10-20 hours per week – days and number of hours per day vary greatly dependent on the Hall’s rental schedule – must be able to be flexible and create your own schedule. Having knowledge and/or experience working with an arts organization is an asset. This position pays between $14-16/an hour commensurate with experience.
