Based out of the historic Longshoreman’s Protective Union Hall in downtown St. John’s, the Resource Centre for the Arts is a not-for-profit organization with one simple mission: to provide the resources necessary to support the development, promotion, and presentation of the performing arts—and artists—in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Through our Theatre Company and the LSPU Hall facilities, we’re able to offer assistance in a variety of different ways. Whether it’s simply a supportive environment, access to unique opportunities in mentoring, rehearsal spaces or the staging of a new production, we’re here to nurture artistic growth—and in the process, help artists realize their dreams.
The RCA Theatre Company’s mission is to create wonderful theatrical productions (which you should really check out) that cultivate, enrich and promote the unique culture of Newfoundland and Labrador.
How We Do It
RCA Theatre Company (RCAT)
Behind the scenes, RCAT is also a hub of resources and support for all of Newfoundland and Labrador’s theatre artists. If you’re not already taking advantage of the many one-of-a-kind resources and opportunities we offer, we invite you—and every other emerging and established artists to discover how RCAT can help you succeed.
Longshoreman’s Protective Union Hall (LSPU Hall).
In addition to being the base of operations for RCA, the Hall is also the heart and soul of the arts community in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Whether it’s an RCA theatre production, or providing venue rentals for artists, dance festivals, symposiums, concerts, and album release parties, the Hall is a place where something’s always happening.
